Valoriza Production Manager, Shane Feddersen cannot be prouder of the team’s achievement.

The Operational Excellence Award recognises organisations demonstrating excellence in the management and operation of waste and resource recovery services and facilities.

For Valoriza, the recognition reflects the work undertaken across our Dandenong facility to continually improve how we process Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO), optimise operations, and create greater value from recovered organic material, to establish a true organics circular economy in Melbourne’s south-east.

Valoriza Country Head, Michael Allaway, said the nomination was an important acknowledgement of the team behind the facility.

“Being recognised as a finalist for Operational Excellence is a fantastic achievement for our Dandenong team. It reflects our commitment to continually challenging how we operate, finding better ways of doing things and delivering a reliable, high-quality service for our customers. Ultimately, our focus is on turning organic waste into a valuable resource and further establishing our local organics circular economy.”

Valoriza is a finalist alongside Frankston City Council, KingKira Group, NT Waste Away, OLEOLOGY and Woolworths Group.

The winner will be announced at the Waste Innovation and Recycling Awards gala dinner in Melbourne on 29 October 2026.
